After watching the first five minutes, I was dumbfounded at how boring and stupid this show was. My reaction is probably from the fact that we have now had way too many of these shows and this one feels like it's all too familiar with none of the celebrities any interesting or funny at all (yes, that includes Andrew Denton. What a disappointing return to TV).

It's very disappointing that ABC didn't have enough creativity and risk that they had to make another Spicks and Specks type game show to replace Spicks and Specks.

By the way, whoever thought "Either Or" was a worthy word game, think again. It's not even a worthy game. Actually, it's probably not even a game because games are supposed to be fun.

Nobody seems interested in the program at all. Mad as Hell would be a better substitute here instead. Pair it up with some more work from the Chaser boys and a new season of Gruen. ABC will see their audience double.

This show just isnt very good. the set looks like it is from community TV. I think to myself "This is the show that got Denton back on TV?". Its a poor-mans Qi in Spicks and Specks clothing. Denton should have come back with a new season of Enough Rope, there really is a gap in interview programs at the moment...

Bring back Gruen/Chaser/More Laid/Mad As Hell.

It's not brilliant but I quite enjoy it. It's one of the few weekly programmes I do watch.

At this rate, they may have to show the rest of the season just on Friday nights, in the late slot.

Trying to watch this again. It just isn't funny. Nor as intelligent as it tries to make out it is. It's just boring.

having watched only the first ep, i watched it again tonight as well... I agree it's just not very good, nor is it particularly clever or amusing. I'm not a fan of QI either but I'd prefer that to watching Randling at that time.

I love QI! Randling is not as good but still very enjoyable but I do tend to be a bit of a word-nerd & fan of unusual facts.
I don't see the point in continuously compariung the two programmes. Yes they are both panel shows with comedians & celebrities but they're not the only two programmes that use that format so it's not like Stephen Fry & Alan Davies invented the idea.

I usually like Andrew Denton but 3 weeks in a row I've tried to watch this show and every episode, I've fallen asleep. I sure wish that the ABC would expand their talent pool and give an opportunity to someone new. Seems like every time I turn on the channel, it's the same old folks, Stephen Fry, Shaun Micallef, Jennifer Byrnes, Myf Warhurst, Marieke Hardy.

I reckon I must be about the only person here who quite likes the programme...

David Marr's team mate appeared to be his twin brother.

This show still isn't very good.

I'm still quite enjoying it.
I think what might benefit them greatly is getting rid of the game show set & replacing it with the traditional, tried & tested panel show set (i.e. the host centred & the two teams either side at 45°). It's more tellybox-friendly to be able to get everyone in the wideshot & better for the studio audience. There is a very good reason why most other panel programmes (eg: QI, GNW, Spicks & Specks, Would I Lie to You?, Eggheads, etc.) stick to it. TAYG didn't but that's probably because it would've been awkward with three teams...

WORST SHOW ON TV. It makes me cringe and I reach for the remote as soon as the awful credit sequence starts with vomit inducing theme-tune. Ba-ba-ba... Such a cynical exercise in creating a show. A little bit of QI, a little bit of Spicks and Specks... and no creativity or ispiration from a production level what so ever. Denton should go back and do Enough Rope, we need a primetime interview show, not another panel show.. Coming in after Gruen, which is a truly great show, Randling would prompt many loyal ABC viewers to reach for the remote as I did and come back once its over (or consequently maybe not come back).

I stayed with ABC1 after Gruen last night. And I agree with the above. The whole show is like a bad segment from Hey Hey, but a million times worse. And Denton pretending he knows nothing about Byrne despite them sharing a bed at home is just stupid.
