I thought The CW picked up a pilot called Beauty and the Beast.. Still no official pick up for two of ABC's more hyped pilots Gilded Lilys and Beauty and the Beast.

Doesn't look like Gilded Lilies will be going ahead according to The Hollywood ReporterI cant believe how far standards have dropped. So many shows hovering in the 1's getting renewed which would have been instant axings in previous years. Will be interesting to see what happens to CSI:Miami and NY. Still no official pick up for two of ABC's more hyped pilots Gilded Lilys and Beauty and the Beast.
With its sixth-season renewal, the ABC Studios series will keep Rhimes busy with three series on ABC's schedule for the second year in a row. Her period drama pilot Gilded Lilys, meanwhile, does not appear to be moving forward.

Are there two shows that go by the same name?

Scripted programming is doing brilliantly on cable tv. Homeland, Walking Dead, Burn Notice, Game of Thrones to mention but a few. US broadcast is struggling more so because overall cable penetration is far higher.Seems US scripted programming is going through abit of a slump, any thoughts on why?

Looks like Seven will inherit a large crop of new comedies, would like to see them finally launch a few, especially Go On and It's Messy which are very well liked by their respective networks.

Yes I've read somewhere that the networks are looking at increasing the number of hours of comedies per week. Needless to say CBS' Monday/ ABC's Comedy Wednesday are two of the strongest performing nights of the week (wish I could say the same about NBC's Thursday).Scripted programming is doing brilliantly on cable tv. Homeland, Walking Dead, Burn Notice, Game of Thrones to mention but a few. US broadcast is struggling more so because overall cable penetration is far higher.
Sitcoms are still doing great business for US networks - Big Bang, Modern Family, Happy Endings, The Middle, Mother all had their best performing seasons to date or improved dramatically over last year. It's their dramas which are under-performing.
