Well, they still won Tuesday so I don't think "well and truly over" is correct.

Sorry I mean to say Seven no longer won Tuesday by huge margins (sometimes over 10%).

How long are they going to suffer with The Project 6pm? Something has to happen

Why does something have to happen?

I haven't mentioned The Project 6pm for a while so here it is

The Project 6pm was 432,000

This day 2 years ago, The Simpsons was 759,000 (18-49 was 416,000)

I know extra multichannels have launched since then (GEM, 7mate & Eleven) but that doesn't account for losing 300,000 viewers. How long are they going to suffer with The Project 6pm? Something has to happen

Spin spin spin. The Project is often out-rating Today Tonight in demos, which Ten targets.

End of story. Move on. Nothing to see here.

I haven't mentioned The Project 6:30pm which is doing much better. The Project 6pm and The Project 6:30pm are split figures.

Why does something have to happen?

Because I like Channel 10 and I don't like where it's going.

Just curious, how do Seven News and Nine News compare over the same dates? It's all very well to look at one result (Channel Ten @ 6.00pm) in isolation but be interesting to know if 7 and 9 have had similar drops which reflects a wider trend

You just don't like change. Just because you can only remember a time when The Simpsons was on at 6pm it doesn't mean it had to be there forever. Ten existed before The Simpsons was around and will continue long after The Simpsons. The show screens at 6pm on Eleven and is hardly setting that channel on fire. You're flogging a dead horse. Where do you think Ten is going anyway?

Going broke. Just like 1990. :(

The Simpsons ratings on Eleven are irrelevant. Multichannel figures aren't a reflection on mainchannel figures.

Hardly surprising given increase in channels / Ten screwing their audience around with failed news at 6 etc.

As always, I will highlight that comparing one random day in 2012 to one random day in 2010 is poor, simple analysis. If your going to do this Sifon, please go to the effort of comparing some whole weeks or months.

That would qualify for OCD :) I don't a database of easily accessible figures.

Going broke. Just like 1990. :(

No big deal. Nine have been broke for a few years now. The Project delivers for Ten and brings in the advertising dollar. Repeats of The Simpsons would not bring those sorts of advertisers in.

The Simpsons ratings on Eleven are irrelevant. Multichannel figures aren't a reflection on mainchannel figures.

Rubbish. They are a good indication of popularity. The Big Bang Theory is huge on Go! and huge on Nine. Mike & Molly does badly on Go! and badly on Nine.

I can remember your suggestion of moving Judge Judy to prime time a few months ago because you thought it would rate really well. How well did it do with it's run at 6pm? Badly. Some of the worst prime time ratings for Ten ever! Perhaps someone was listening to your suggestion because that programming move seemed to come from left field. That should have been a lesson for you. The Simpsons won't do any better than The Project at 6pm. It would probably do worse.

The Simpsons is huge on Ten and huge on Eleven. 6pm is up 33% since Sabrina.

IIRC I suggested Judge Judy replace The Project 6pm. I didn't suggest Judy air once a week on a Saturday when Masterchef encores replaced it. No promotion, out of place etc

I've never seen any official figures posted for Saturday Judge Judy but Ten Evening News on Saturday rated as low as 167,000.

What does The Project deliver for Ten?

An eclectic audience that will have more spending money to buy things apart from comic books and matchbox cars.

I wouldn't call that 'huge'... 33% on top of nothing is still pretty much nothing...

Exactly. BLB peaked at 1.22 million at 8.11pm but had plummeted to 616,000 nationally by 8.20. The only reason it rose was because viewers were tuning in for the late starting Bikie Wars.

In related news... hospitals recorded a surge in admissions at around 8.30 last night as people presented to emergency departments with eye injuries resulting from trying to dig their eyeballs out with rusty forks.

I doubt the Simpsons will rate anywhere near 759k if it was on at 6pm these days. Your refrain is getting old. Your analysis is simplistic.

I think The Project at 6 will need to stay for the long haul for it to grow an audience. It needs to change peoples habits from watching the awful news services on the other channels. Ten need to leave it there and keep promoting and it will build. IN 10 years time it will be part of the furniture and people will know where it is and find it and it will define what Ten is. The SImpsons is fine on Eleven and it is too simplistic for people to say move it back to 6pm on ten.
