I'm surprised Jenny Craig signed up as sponsors to "The Vile & Tacky O Show" in the first place, although that's for another time and day.

The Australian reported today that another sponsor (Bulla) has fled SCA because of Vile and Tacky O. They need to get these parasites off the air. As far as advertisers are concerned, their brand is toxic.

In all seriousness who would you replace them with to maintain or better the current breakfast ratings? When Wendy Harmer and the old morning crew moved on they did struggle for a while with breakfast ratings. Kyle & Jackie O were the ones who improved their ratings.

Your point is valid...but no matter how high the ratings are if the advertisers dont want to promote their product on the program the show can not make money. It is now well documented that they have lost millions. Its just a matter of how much SCA can sustain those losses or whether other advertisers come on board. So whilst the show is popular with people, their brand is toxic and is losing money.

ACMA is now investigating on Kyle Sandilands' "fat slag" outburst against a News Limited journalist that occurred on November 22 last year.

The communications watchdog has announced it is investigating complaints made about an on-air attack on a journalist by shock jock Kyle Sandilands.
Sandilands launched the attack on news.com.au entertainment editor Alison Stephenson on 2Day FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show on November 22 after she reported the low ratings of the pair's television special A Night With The Stars.

At the time the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) said it had received some complaints about his comments.
A spokesman for ACMA announced the investigation today.
"We are investigating complaints about Kyle Sandilands's remarks on radio on November 22, 2011," the spokesman said.
"The results of that investigation will be made available in due course."

Good. I really hope "Vile & Tacky O" get the sack. I really loathe them, their breakfast show and 2DAYFM with a passion. Of course, I doubt ACMA will give them the six or seven figure fine they deserve or better yet, suspend or pull the plug on 2DAY or even both of SCA's Sydney licences, but I can dream? Right?

After I have posted the above, I was browsing Jock's Journal, where I've found an article from The Australian on Tuesday. The article said that advertising executives at SCA have been made redundant as a result of Kyle's outburst.

A senior source at SCA, denies that though. They say the redundancies were "structural" not Kyle related. The fact remains though, if Kyle was good & they still had plenty of advertisers, there'd be plenty of work & no advertising staff would have to go, or could be done without, thereby leaving a huge workload on the remaining staff. If money's a problem, & they can't afford to keep them, well cut some of the gutless top execs. & plug the leak where the money's draining out from, the 2DAY breakfast show!

At the risk of getting criticised, I am going to admit that I actually like Kyle and Jackie O.
Judging by their ratings, I'm guessing that I'm not the only one.

People here and in the media are so determined to have them fired and I'm getting tired of hearing it.
People are just waiting for kyle or jackie to say something else that they can be attacked for.

If people are so offended then I suggest they change the station. No-one is making you listen.

My guess is that the people who complain the loudest don't even listen at all...

I don't want to see Kyle and Jackie O off the airwaves, and either does their large listener base, I wish that those who don't listen to K&J would go back to listening to whatever station it is that they listen to and just leave us to enjoy an entertaining show

I also agree that those three (and the station they work at) should be pulled off air just as much, if not more than Kyle Sandilands. Don't get me started on how Brian Willshire (I think that's how you spell his name) told listeners late last night or early this morning that the likes of Andrew Bolt and Piers Akerman are good columnists/journalists!

I agree that Smith and Jones should be off air...but the difference is they have shows that companies want to advertise on. They are vile human beings with some extreme right wing agenda and collectively jizz at the sight of Tony Abbott, however, they are making money for 2gb and not losing it. Hadley is good on the football but should not talk about politics. Indeed that whole station deserves to be shot. But again they make alot of money.

People might be listening to Vile and Tack O but they are losing money for SCA. So they should be off air. Simple as that.
