Another massive night for the House Rules Semi Final. Masterchef not damaged much but Offspring took a bit of a hit. Will probably catch-up later in the week. It's a shame that The Goldbergs isn't doing better. I don't mind it.

Huge share for 7TWO last night, smart move replaying the Kyrgios match. House Rules dominating over some weak 7:30 competition from Nine and ABC.

7TWO's Wimbledon coverage did very well, taking the top two spots in multichannels.

Impressive figures for HR semi final but I think it could have been higher if not for the tennis.

Offspring suffered a big drop while MC was steady from last Wednesday (but lost viewers from Tuesday). Could it be some people who normally watched Offspring at that time switched to Seven to see the result of HR semi-final or to 7TWO for the tennis?

Well you gotta hand it to Ten, second night in a row that they have beaten 9 in the 7.30pm timeslot.

I don't think that is that good a result - I would have thought there would have been a lot more interest given the saturation media coverage the win got.

Where have all the 7pm viewers gone?

People with ratings boxes who continually choose to watch repeat after repeat of TBBT should have them revoked. Lazy programming should not be rewarded.

2 2014 WIMBLEDON REPLAY Network 7TWO 289,000 101,000 91,000 42,000 39,000 16,000

I don't think that is that good a result - I would have thought there would have been a lot more interest given the saturation media coverage the win got.

No matter the individuals involved, it's still a match where the outcome has already been decided. Only those with an interest in tennis would have watched the replay last night.

Also it was a last minute change, wouldn't have made many guides. I'd say there were a lot of people that would have watched it but didn't know it was on. The numbers are fantastic.

7 News getting very close to Nine News in Sydney.

They have been closer last two days but that seems to be more a drop in Nine rather than any significant gain for 7 which really should be able to crack 300k each night.

Wimbledon figures are fantastic. What time was the replay on in Perth? Would have been 5:30pm or something right as the live action started at 7?? Either way considering all the footage was on high rotation throughout the day and all over websites etc I think that is a great figure. Sport with such high profile outcomes doesn't tend to replay well (why would it??).

7 News getting very close to Nine News in Sydney.

Perhaps Sydney is having a short boycott of Nine News over the ridiculous over-coverage of Todd Carney on Monday night (even though all networks ridiculously over-covered it to an extent, Nine News probably had more coverage on that idiot than the others due to Nine's strong ties with the NRL)?

Either way, I really don't think that Nine will be too worried. As I said in the "7 News Content & Appearance" thread last night, Seven News Sydney still needs more regular ratings wins on the board before we can say that the tables have been turned. Somehow, I can't see that happening anytime soon although much stranger things have happened...

From the ratings article:

Sunrise (351,000) easily beat Today (274,000) and ABC Breakfast (79,000 and 31,000).

Sunrise has been doing extremely well lately. Any theories on why? Is it because of Georgie's departure on Today because I think Today's numbers dropped a bit after she left, right?

It's possible that the World Cup if having an affect - the ABC figures are well down on usual as well. Possible that Today might have lost a bigger percentage of viewers in SYD and MEL where soccer is most popular and Today gets most viewers.

That makes sense, but wow, Sunrise is winning by big margins at the moment. And even greater in the regions (which is not surprising considering Seven's dominance). More broadly, aside the even larger wins of late (prob because of the soccer), Sunrise has really seen a spike since Sam came on board.

Great result for Seven and House Rules. Also, it's good to see that Wimbledon is getting good numbers.

Actually last week was one of Today's best weeks. Sunrise won by about 50,000 (weekly average) but Today won Sydney, Melbourne and 25-54. Previous weeks had seen Sunrise winning by 75,000.
