7 really should have waited 2 weeks for X Factor. And Voice Kids was never really going to be massive on a Wednesday.

I think the Block is going to do quite well - even though House Rules was not that long ago, it seems renovation has not been on for ages. Will probably be refreshing for many people.

So glad to see Masterchef and Offspring winning their timeslots.

Yuck at the voice kids ratings. Should never have made the show. It will dilute the brand.

Good win for Masterchef.

FF grew out of Eyewitness News not too bad despite the three channel road block.

Nine's last minute decision to slot in an extra episode of Voice Kids backfired big time.

wow, I didn't expect The Kids Voice to go down to 806k. It backfired for Nine. They probably should have waited til next week when MasterChef is finished.

It was a battle of three reality shows at 7.30 last night. MasterChef was the winner (just, by 49k), followed by the X Factor, then Kids Voice.

Glad that Offspring did well for Ten.

While The Voice Kids crashed to a new series low, it succeeded in taking viewers away from The X Factor and MC, and preventing MC from posting a season high at least until tonight. But really The Voice Kids rated only a bit better than TBBT repeats in the same timeslot in the past few weeks.

Australia is suffering talent show fatigue! Great to see Masterchef beat both of them.

X Factor smacked the behinds of The Voice Kids.

Bad decision by Nine, to put it in at the last minute and damage the brand further. The audience split again and the real winner was Masterchef. Great to see Offspring getting some of it's highest ratings of any season. Great cliffhanger too.

The Project continues to do well and Family Feud not bad either.

Seven and Nine only have themselves to blame for allowing Masterchef to become a success. Masterchef was struggling at 700k before it was allowed to prosper on Thursdays. Just like The Bachelor, it has been allowed to slowly build thanks to lack of decent competition Thursdays.

Australians want tentpole reality ALL WEEK
! Hopefully The Block restores some credibility to Nine's woeful Wed/Thu schedule.

Why are you so keen for Seven and Nine to smash Ten all the time? I think credit should be given to Ten for finding a gap in the schedule and taking advantage of it. Not blaming Seven and Nine for not crushing Ten at every opportunity. Ten should look at more opportunities on Thursday, Friday and Saturday which would then increase their weekly share and make them look even better.

Australians want tentpole reality ALL WEEK

No they don't. Overexposing your reality shows will just kill them off sooner. The reality bubble is bound to burst eventually so the networks should now be preparing for the day that reality shows only rate the same as drama, comedy, factual and lifestyle programs.

FF grew out of Eyewitness News not too bad despite the three channel road block.

not quite, it shrank out of the 3 channel 5pm hour so likely its Ten only numbers shrank after the news

It's very good to see that MasterChef not only outrated The Voice: Kids last night but also The X Factor as well! Hopefully this is an early sign that the days of "talent" reality shows topping the ratings may be numbered.

Australians want tentpole reality ALL WEEK

You might actually be right. In my experience I much prefer shows like Masterchef being on 5 nights a week.

Ouchie for The Voice: Kids. I don't think a single kids version of a reality show has ever worked, which is nice. Parents will avoid exploiting kids on national television like the plague because its simply wrong.

Boy, Ten are having a great time with MC and Offspring!

Will be interesting in the next number of weeks to see how Ten perform, with The Bachelor and later on the 6 part mini-series Party Tricks (which will probably crash a few millions for Ten) coming... :)

While there has been a lot of obvious talk about how poorly The Voice Kids did - The X Factor result is also well down on previous results. Last night's result was the lowest since some episodes of the first season (Season 2) that was on Seven. The 6th audition episode in past years has always rated first on the night - last year it got 1.48 million.

I think we're saying that they're both bad but The Voice Kids is phenomenally worse.

The Voice Kids had 1,652,000 and 1,665,000 in its first two weeks but now it could only get 806,000. Epic fail.
