If they can't get the McSween plus some other female thing to work during the week, they could do worse than having them on 2-6pm. Agree about Clinton - nice guy but he really seems distracted by everything else happening during the show, including his football team.

I doubt if Prue MacSween would want to work every weekend and think that Ron Wilson with or without Agela Bishop would be a better option. If 2UE had a strong programme on a Sunday evening it possibly could give Jason Morrison a boost on Monday mornings.

I'm not that into sport so usually change the station when Sports Today comes on at 6pm. Maybe someone can confirm this... I don't think Tim Webster works Monday to Friday on Sports Today. I know Greg Alexander doesn't do every day and I think Rebecca Wilson only does two days. Perhaps Tim will get his old weekend afternoon lifestyle slot back while still doing a few days on the sports show?

Caught a little of Bocking's programme yesterday. I prefer him to Oldfield but found him a little too over enthusiastic. I'm sure he'll settle into it but I really think 2UE has grander plans for that slot and he's just keeping the seat warm.

The Age reports on an interesting joint venture coming up between 3AW and GLBT community radio station Joy FM. Both stations will be doing a simulcast on 3 May, with 3AW's Neil Mitchell and Joy's David McCarthy, to discuss the issue of teen suicide with particular emphasis on gay youth. It's not often you see commercial and community broadcasts get together especially for such a social issue. I think it's quite a ground-breaking initiative and a very bold move particularly from 3AW.

did anyone happen to hear the joint 3AW/Joy broadcast this morning? I was tuned in to 3AW at 9.30 just as Neil Mitchell was heading out of the studio to make his way to Federation Square for the outside broadcast. Justin Smith took over for the 9.30 half-hour. I found that Joy FM had started simulcast with 3AW from 10.00 as they were rebroadcasting the 3AW News but I couldn't stay listening beyond that. Was interested to know how it went.

^ I haven't heard the broadcast, but the entire broadcast plus photos are available at the 3AW website: http://www.3aw.com.a...0502-1xxt9.html

Our newish Director of Radio whilst a "nice guy" is way out of his depth, so Tuesday's results will be interesting. Expect AW will be fine but could be carnage in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth.

Dear oh dear looking through all our figures from around the country are we going to have only one news/talk station in double figures ? 4BC becoming a disaster, 6PR same as 4BC continues to slide. 2UE last one out turn off the lights please. 3AW only decent product left. At this rate the network will be worth next to nothing soon.

Now, when will we have John Stanley back on weekdays?

According to Jock's Journal, Peter Berner has signed on with 2UE to present a weekend program, most likely in an afternoon slot.

I was rather hoping they would offer it to Mike Jeffreys but Peter Berner could work out well. Mickey Mouse would have been better than Clinton Maynard

With ex-2UE announcer Michael Smith popping up on 2GB Afternoons, it may as well be said that ex-2GB announcer Luke Bona is now doing Nature Bee segments (via phone) with New Day Australia.

Dora Bona, who is apparently the wife of Luke Bona, used to do some of the Nature Bee live ads on 2UE.

Yeah, I remember something similar back in 2004 with Brian Wilshire. It was around 8:30 in the evening when he placed the caller to air, then bought back the caller around 9:15. Honestly I didn't know if it was real, or just a fake stunt.

It's a surprise to me that everyone doesn't fall asleep listening to Bruce and Phil, hardly inspiring radio!

Old news - Hadley has mentioned this several times during his weekend and weekday shows. 3AW and 4BC confirmed, I'd assume 6PR would take it as well.

So Luke Bona sounds like he's filling in for Oldfield. Good luck to him. Thought it was disgraceful he was dumped by Macquarie after so many years of loyal service
