Try these ones.

1. For NTD-8, how about a Chinese language version of the Looking Great promo from the mid 80s?
2. Same channel, only an updated version blending actual people from Darwin and anime characters. Plus, we might need an updated version of the theme.

Some ideas for it:

1. Bulma (from Dragon Ball in one scene will be delivering cargo to Darwin in her plane. Have a close up of the 8 logo, then pull back to show Bulma smiling at the camera, then she flys off.
2. Ling Ling and Lung Lung (from Ranma 1/2) doing a ribbon and forming the Channel 8 logo. Ranma is being chased by Akane in a Channel 8 t-shirt. As she yells, "Ranma, you baka!", we crash zoom on her mouth to...
3. Rini (from Sailor Moon) drawing a fan Sailor Scout, who's planetary symbol....is the NTD 8 LOGO! (BTW, we might wanna depict the fan senshi as she poses behind the 8 logo.)
4. More anime characters and humans in Darwin do stuff. And show the 8 logo every 5-7 seconds in the promo.

- New version of Southern Cross Hobart ident. In this version, Jigglypuff from Pokemon kicks the Tassie Tiger off the logo, and takes his place. She begins to sing the "One To Watch" line in Jigglytalk, but has her mouth gagged with a sock.

you never know some of the top unis in aust have societies dedicated to anime lol. Theyre usually very popular.

A new version of the "Yeah!" 7 Network launch from '91, but this time showcasing all the Seven/Prime idents and characters, etc. from their beginnings to today?

BTW, should the RVN-AMV ones be included, too?

I can't see that happening until the next time the stations celebrate their birthday e.g. their 50th...also, some people might be a bit confused about all these old logos on the screen until it's revealed that it's Prime. Mind you...SC Ten have been running their NRTV 40th Birthday IDs right across northern NSW.

Now now James, don't strifle creativity.
Sure, some of those ideas are perhaps a little over the top... but if you described some of our TV ID's to someone in the 60's or 70's they probably have the same reaction.
And while ESPN's specifics may not be to your taste... perhaps the concept is worth considering

How about a hybrid ID?

What if Seven, Nine and Ten merged to create a MegaNetwork? (Let's call it the SevenNineTen network!) Imagine what the logo ID would look like. (Use your imagination)

PS. Bonus Idea: A fusion of the new and old NTD-8 Darwin logos.

Can I make a suggestion - perhaps a generic "Mock Requests" thread should be set up for people to ask about mocks they'd like to see done. Frankly, it's quite boring coming in here to find new threads saying - "Hey, I'd like to see..." or "Somebody do a mock of...". This is a forum to showcase creative talents - and although throwing out ideas of what you'd like to see is all good and well, it doesn't really serve the point of this forum.

Ultimately, if you want to see a mock done, try doing one yourself.
