I meant reynold :P typo fixed

It will be interesting on Monday in the reunion to see what direction season 27 takes. It's pretty tight lipped as nothing will go into production for another month or two but there are rumours that...

I've never understood the outpouring of emotion when the loved ones turn up. It's only been a couple of months and they're going to be home in a week anyway. It's always the most boring part of the season and I skipped through most of the first half. Perhaps I'm just callous, but no more than those who got rid of Brenda after what she did for them. Contestants in future seasons would do well to remember that.

Completely agree with you. Some of them were acting like they hadn't seen their loved ones in over 10 years. Dawn and Sherri in particular were completely over the top.

I think you've got to understand that when you in a situation where you are out in a game like Survivor in the middle of nowhere with complete strangers starving, hungry, no contact with the outside world and feeling homesick... it would feel like you've been away two or three times as long. Especailly contestants like Dawn and Sherri who are mothers and have kids it's a big deal. This was probably the best family members epsiode to date, because it had the added emotional torture of giving up the prize and having to watch them all enjoying it from camp. One of the random moments was from Dawn back and camp when she said that she was mad that "I could SPIT!".

Finale tonight at 8.30pm!

Too late to change the timeslot. It's been advertised as 8.30. If it's moved to 7.30 people will miss the first hour.

I just can't believe they expect me to sit up until 11.30pm to watch it.

I'm really looking forward to this but I'm afraid I will fall asleep before the winner is announced as I didn't get home until almost midnight last night and had to be up early for work today.

The winner should be announced just after 10:30 but I want to watch the Reunion show too. Poor people at my work tomorrow!

Still, only a week before they'll be home??? Anyway, I don't doubt that the emotion was sincere. I just don't get it. And given that it was sincere, how could Dawn be so two-faced as to be distraught at missing her loved ones but eliminate Brenda, who had dived and recovered her teeth when she was even more distraught? I don't mind people playing the game, but the way Brenda assisted Dawn had nothing to do with the game. It was just human kindness. I believed Brenda when she said she could have lasted longer in the challenge. It sounded like an excuse, but on past challenges Brenda was much stronger than Dawn and would have won if she was motivated. What a cold fish Dawn has turned out to be, and Brenda was sucked right in.

Two comments for the moment.

If Erik had collapsed an hour earlier Brenda could still be in the game.

No mention of the usual $100,000 for second - I assume a tie with 0 votes each.

Lots of the usual stuff missing from the reunion show - what happened to talking to the cast? Did Sherri say anything? Eddie? Erik? Some random audience member said more! Very dissappointed, wasted opportunity.

It was pretty obvious ever since Malcolm left that Cochrane would win... he got such a strong winners style edit. The finale was good but predictable, although I'm surprised that Dawn didn't get at least 1 vote.

Final tribal was good though. Sherri was absolutely pathetic and had zero strategy all season, but I loved how she got back at Erik at trbial with her "I don't care, sit down!" comments. Erik had no reason to have a go at her, as his strategy was no better than hers. I was actually quite disgusted by Brenda at the final tribal making Dawn humiliate herself like that. For someone who claimed she wa so "humble" during the game she just took that away from herself. It's a game, get over it. I wish Dawn at least got one vote to seperate herself from Sherri.

As for player of the season, definitely relieved that it went to Malcolm. I was shocked that Brenda almost got it. Clearly voting opened after last weeks episode and she got a lot of sympathy votes. That's the only possible reason, considering we barely even saw her for 3/4 of the season.

Survivor: Blood vs Water. What a strange name. It's the family members season for sure (A tribe of Favourties vs a trive of Family members). Very risky concept which could be really good or could backfire. Cast members are already in lockdown and filming starts within a couple weeks and rumoured players are already leaking.

Overall a great season and definitely one of the best in recent years, but probably not as much as Probst hyped it up to be. It did have two of the most memorable Survivor moments ever which will never be forgoteen - Brandon and Malcolm's tribal.

The outcome became fairly predictable once Brenda had been voted out. The best player won but the finale wasn't the highlight of the season.

The reunion special was a bit of a farce. Some of the players were greatly disrespected. I enjoy hearing from the players who were voted out early to get their take on how the season unfolded. It was just silly not to speak to Erik and get some resolution to the circumstances surrounding his evacuation from the game, some thoughts on his strategy and if he thought he stood a chance of winning.

Yeah agree with the reunion. There was too much focus on talking to Rudy, Boston Rob, another girl in the audience, showing clips from the first season etc. It's the first time that they've ever only had the jury on the reunion stage yet still missed half of them.

Did anyone notice the NRMA Care Flight decal during Erik's evac?

No I didn't but the medics they usually use on Survivor are Australian

But recovering Dawn's teeth was not really part of the game. That's why it's different. Brenda was rightly fuming and it was her only chance to extract some small bit of satisfaction. It wasn't nice, but understandable in the circumstances. Dawn added to her moral debits by admitting that she lied to Brenda that she was going to quit if her teeth were not recovered. Zero votes for Dawn was the most satisfying result of the season.

There's a long interview with Erik here:

http://insidetv.ew.c...n-erik-reunion/ (two pages)

He is scathing of the reunion and the disrespect to him and other players. The pre-jury players didn't know till they were shunted off to audience seats when they got there that they wouldn't be speaking. There is also this tidbit:

...and at Tribal Council I got horribly edited where Sherri told me to sit down at the end. I actually didn’t sit down. I said I have to talk to Cochran as well.

No offence to Erik but he was a boring contestant who didn't really add anything to the show at all. We all saw him medically evacuated, but then we all saw him again looking fine and better at the following tribal council. So who cares? He is having a whinge for the sake of it. Is he just jealous that he was one of the least interesting of the favourites? Also in regards to the jury thing he needs to get over it. We all know things are edited. If they didn't show his question to Cochrane as well so what? The moment between he and Sherri happened regardless.

As for the pre-merge contestants not being on stage... I agree it was a bit of a surprise but in fairness I hate reunions where they have to rush through 10 or so contestants in 5 minutes just so each can have a word. Although considering the spoke to Rudy, Boston Rob and some random girl int he audience which could have gone to titme talking to other contestants was a bit ridiculous.
