cheerful.gif SBS World News Australian has had a major revamp, everything has changed! There's a brand new opener and set, music has changed slightly

Have they fixed up the globe that spins the wrong way in the opener? mischievous.gif

Underwhelmed. Even Mary seems to have been gingered-up, and it's a bit odd to see her speaking faster than her usual Easter Island statue pace. And what exactly is that "crystal palace" thing in the opening - Oz?

Toyota World Sport has also been given another revamp, same style of SBSWNA (computer generated) except red is the dominant colour, new opener but same theme music. Strange that TWS only got a revamp a couple of months ago.

Bleurch... crazy.gif

Did Ten News sack a whole bunch of their graphics people after their last revamp, who've all gone to SBS now?

I mean, SBS has come up with some nice stuff in the past - I know they've used Ink Project to do a lot of their IDs and network graphics packages... But this news look is... Well... eyepopping.gif embarrassed.gif I've seen better looking stuff on Sky News Australia.

It really reeks of oldness.
And journalistic incredibility.

I've seen better sets at HSV7. That includes the sewer.

Right out of the 1980s, here is SBS' World News Australia. scared.gif

This has got to be the worst relaunch ever in Australia for years.

Shocking. Poor set (looks very channel 31), crap graphics. SBS used to be sophisticated... now what is it???

Thanks for the caps Reuder7!

Is that set keyed or is it real?

It would have to be keyed.

I am lost for words. That is the worst set I have ever seen. It has too much contrast and you can barely find Mary in the darkness of the set!!!

I can't believe it! And I will put my money where my mouth is... go to the Como News thread in mocks... biggrin.gif (it's what I call, cross promotion...)
And now the news...

It's more like an early 90's look. Still, I thought the glass 3D look for nearly every graphic on the news had gone a long time ago.

Odd that they changed the World Sports graphics/set again after the previous re-launch which looked fairly good.

Overall, I give the new look something like 4/10 especially as the 3D graphics on the set do not work fully (look at the globe on WNA or the World Sports logo on Toyota World Sports, it looks cheap and doesn't look like it was done correctly).
