Does anyone know what this font is?
I've seen it on a book somewhere, but I haven't been able to figure out what the font is...

What was the font HSV7 used for when they went colour?
It looks something like this, but I don't know the name of it.

I am certain it was a custom designed font. Not seen anywhere else. Presumably designed by the company in US who did the animation and electronic music that went with it. There was a press article at the time. It cost HSV a fortune and of course no other network stations used it, and HSV ditched it after six months and returned to using the numeral 7 in its logo in accordance with Sydney.

Gill Sans MT - it's a standard font on computers running Windows, and probably others too.

It's also used by the BBC (not just for the corporate logo).

Both me and my brother have XP, but Gill Sans isn't on my desktop, but it's on my brother's laptop. So I copied it across.

BBC - Press Office - Broadcasting House, London. If you go down to near the end, there's a passage about Eric Gill (1882-1940) which says:

QUOTE
Of the 11 typefaces that he designed, Gill Sans is his most famous; it is a clear modern type and became the letter of the railways - appearing on their signs, engine plates, and timetables - as well as becoming the brand typeface of the BBC, used on its logo and other corporate literature.
