Show us your watermarks!

Here I have the first Aussie watermark. I'm sure it is. The old yellow WIN one from the 90s. The original and best!

Actually the yellow win watermark wasn't the first one. WIN had a solid white one earlier than that.
There is a video of it on the aus.tv.history site, it's at the bottom of this page: http://austvhistory3.tripod.com/regional/winvideos.htm

The lack of a shytemark on Channel Nine Perth is the original and best. There is no such thing as a good watermark.

It's all about branding and marketing. You've got to have a brand, and you've got to make sure that your programming is branded. Remember, television isn't about a clean screen, its about profits. Afterall, each network is in it to make money, not to keep HD viewers happy.

You have it all wrong. It is about the egos of TV network execs. They are so far out of touch with reality that if they don't do something soon to encourage people to watch programs on their networks they will be obsolete.

For example, I can download Prison Break off channel BT and if I download 700MB MPEG4 versions I get a product that is superior to anything that the Seven Network can possibly broadcast in their current state in the regard that the files are captured from a 1280x720p source with Dolby 5.1 audio and the advances in MPEG4 compression mean that the picture is above SD quality and the 5.1 audio can be preserved and I will not be subjected to Seven bodge.

What compelling reason is there to watch Prison Break on Seven? They don't have HD, they only have MPEG Pro Logic audio, they are bodge, they are egotistical and I have to wait months to see it.

At least Nine have the HD card, maybe one day they will have 5.1 on programs and they don't have an ugly shytemark.

I'm sure the first 24hr watermark used on aussie tv was the word "prime" in the top right hand corner on prime tv, wasn't it?

and youll still get that watermark or a botched watermark removal attempt. Stick to the topic champ.

How funny would it be if we all found out that Champion_R only has a 51 cm Palsonic analogue tv at home.

Channel 9 Perth has one during ACA and sometimes news and Nightline, but that one is the thicker one, not the one during normal shows. I reckon their not far from getting one on!

That is on the network feed so everybody gets that. The stupidity of that is WIN and NBN have to cover it with an opaque shytemark because it's rammed down their throats.

I'd hope they never go down that road and I know people who agree with me. The worst thing they could do is alienate viewers when they are trying to climb to number one in the ratings.

I hope they maintain their standards and keep the screen shytemark free.

From what i have seen on other Nine stations you can hardly see it so i don't think it is a big problem. It's easy because when your tuning a new TV you know what channel its on.
