Nice live watermark on SBS during the FA cup final.

And it's now 4:3 safe! A few mornings ago during the UEFA Cup Final it was significantly to the right of screen.

Here is a screenshot... if they moved it around 10cm to the left it would be the middle of the screen...

I noticed on Two and a Half Men tonight on STW, the watermark was over on the left, rather than the right. Is that normal?

Is there anything normal about what STW spits out?

Isn't left for news usually?

What does their watermark look like these days?

Seen it once before happen during a movie, by after the next ad break it went back to the right. They use the same watermark for the news.

This was taken when STW changed their PRG back in Feb, nothing has changed since but at times it can be more or less transparent.

Exactly. Much more opaque for news, and no watermark for programs available in HD (Apart from the 9 HD Breakoff).

I was flicking past 90 after Boston Legal last night, and Footy Classified was disgraced with the HD shitstain. I'd bet they're going to start showing it all day.

Thank christ I'm not watching this shitty station. Not missing anything either smile.gif

footy classified comes in with the HD breakaway...because TCN and QTQ do a live simulcast from Melbourne - same with the AFL Footy Show ... shown against the NRL Show on Thursday nights.

I would assume that the poo was placed there to cover the dotty HD wm.

I was just complaining elsewhere (I am good at that) about the new 4:3 safe CBS watermark. Guess it will be common for all US networks soon enough.

US networks doing 4:3 safe watermarks? That's crazy, especially as they are close to analog switchoff.

Any caps anyone?

That is why they are doing it, since people will have to go digital they know they will zoom. There will only be one feed this way so it is all about cost (and bandwidth) savings.
