Anyone Seen MTV???

They have this colored moving image with the MTV logo on the middle left.
It interferes with programs and is very annoying. I can't believe they are using it scared.gif

It's not even a watermark; it's a logo in the middle of the screen... It's horrible!

Don't know who has seen Southern Cross Tasmania's watermark but here it is. It's not very flash and is still quite large but its better than the tiger one which took up 1/4 of the screen

I assume they only use that for exclusives. Those supers are very bad, considering how nice the opener is (or was, it might have changed since I saw it last)

The opener remains the same as the video I posted earlier in the year, and yep the massive watermark is only used on exclusive news stories, there are no watermarking of normal programming.

Here we go again win has changed the sport watermark to solid blue back ground
the white looks much brighter why do they this, the logo does not blend into the background like the nine logo. Any sport on win i'll have watch the sopt on foxs sport a few hours later boycott WIN TV.

I checked out the watermark for myself (you had me curious by your keeness to post about it) & it ain't all that bad - certainly not as bad as some.

It's a fairly translucent logo, unlike the solid lower left score super that Nine super for the majority of the game.

But as I've posted before, they're just watermarks, so either ignore or don't watch.

Interesting "boness".........

So WIN has a different sport watermark & within 30 minutes of it's airing (Footy started at 8.30) you feel so compelled to find a Media site, create a new identity & immediately post a "here they go again" comment about it.....curious.

Who might you really be & from where?

They have also updated there Normal program watermark as well (very channel nine) I like it!

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but boycott WIN TV all you want, it will make no difference to them...

WIN's new watermark is now 2D looking and not as nice as the previous one. The Logo now comes up with a yukky 3d look when the RPG plays, heres a video...

I hadn't seen the programme super or watermark till this morning.

[mcpaton] - I'm not sure what's "yukky" about the programme super, IMHO it has a nice 3D look & the blue matches their promos & other animations - it doesn't look to bad. Besides it's only up for about 5 seconds at the beginning of each segment so that's not much to complain about if you really think it's "yukky"!

And yes the watemark is now 2D but I reckon that makes it less obvious & intrusive than a 3D one & it also seems quite a bit more translucent than the previous one.

[boness] - "Any sport on win i'll have watch the sopt on foxs sport a few hours later boycott WIN TV.".

I think what your trying to say is that you would rather watch the sport on Fox Sport a few hours later, rather than watch it on WIN.

If that is indeed what you are trying to say (& apologies if my "cretinese" translating powers are poor), you would rather watch a footy match hours or days later on a service that you have to pay for & with a solid super rather than a watermark.

That makes a lot of sense.

I think maybe WIN, are trying out different watermark designs for sport, as for the PRG, hmmm everything is alright but the coloured WIN logo looks sort of weird like a circleish beveled rectangle, hmm the proper logo would be better but can't complain to much it's better then a WIN Australia map one for sure. yes.gif

I don't mind watermarks, the only thing I ask the networks is it not be bright, and decent amount of transparency (eg: Now you see it, Now you don't/barely see it)

My only comment meant that they had it looking nice, and the "3d" look to it matched the actual logo on their Idents. now it's in a rounded rectangle box and the nice 3d look is gone. The Blue box when it pops up is some other weird 3d look that doesnt match their normal blue logo.... they had consistency, now its gone.

cheerful.gif I like the new Win watermark I actually think it is the most professional looking one they have had since the yellow one with the dots that they had for many years in the top right hand corner, looks nice!

I agree southernguy. Maybe the 3D logo should be used on the PRG, but other than that it works.

agreed. when they relaunched after the commonwealth games, WIN were looking really good for the first time ever... they've lost it already... Nine must have packaged up everything for them, now theyre trying to "WIN-ify" it all...

I have no idea what the WIN watermark is, it seems to change so much. That and the WIN Sports one.

When I went back to Renmark last year I don't remember seeing a watermark anyway, but that was before the relaunch I guess.

I can see you have never seen the Victoria version of the one they had on when they never got the Wollongong feed if you think there new watermark is bad,
if only I could show you what they used.
I think I must be the only Victorian in this forum in the regional area unless you would know what I mean.
I HOPE they do abetter Job of reproducing the new Win Watermark in Victoria than the one they just had!
I actually cannot believe they could even put the one they used in Victoria on air, if that was the best I could do I would not put one on at all.
I really don't mean to be Nasty to Win in Victoria but if I was an art teacher marking it on a school report I would not be happy
