WIN is now repeating itself, putting a new WIN NEWS blue watermark over the top of the nine watermark on the news. Will post a cap later, unless someone else wants to.

Come on hibert - you type in CAPS with such strong assertions, give us some supporting comments otherwise one must think that you've got some hidden agenda or axe to grind.

I do think it is an ok design but the reason why I said it was crap was because it is not transparent and too diracting when trying to watch the news unlike the hard-to-see, transparent nine logo. The transparent win logo they had above the nine logo on the news a couple of weeks ago was much better than what they have now. Just think of the poor thin flat screen people.

I tend to agree... When WIN relaunched with the new 9 package, it all looked vey schmick... they had a good metro style happening, all looking very professional. Now we have watermarks that don't match the corporate logo (ie rounded edges) news and sport "watermarks" that aren't transparent covering the 9 up, and the logos they have used to cover the 9 logo are different again to the corporate news and sport logos...

it's become a mish mash of stuff trying to hide their 9 affilliation, just like we had before with the australia mud-mark and 9 dots logo...

Just a few reasons I avoid WIN as much as I can smile.gif

It's the "live" watermark

Oh, okay. It's only live in the Eastern states though...

I was watching Lost too but during the ads I noticed Ten had no watermark during the whole episode of Medium. Any reason? This was on the HD channel, I'm not sure whether they've got one back yet.

They did on Law & Order - err everything on Ten is in 1080i so I'm confused as to what the real HD programs are on Ten. This is just the first time I've not seen the watermark.

They only watermark HD when there is non-native content.

All native HD content has no watermark.

Did anyone see WINs bodgey effort in covering up the nine live watermark on dancing on ice? it was the WIN news blue watermark but without the news bit, so it just said WIN and there was heaps of room underneath with nothing there, they didnt even put LIVE in the space.

Yes I did see that but after we came back from the first ad-break, they had replaced it with the normal WIN Logo for programming.

Apparently Nine originally informed all Metros & Affiliates that they were going to have the "9 LIVE" watermark on their network feed, but it got yanked (without warning) at the last minute because of the problems it would have caused to the delayed stations like NWS & STW.

I only saw the top right WIN logo for a few minutes during segment 1 then it was faded off & they went back to their normal bottom right watermark for the remaining majority of the segment.

More changes to WIN's Sport watermark, now it's slightly transparant, you can see the nine through it:

Yep, I don't even think there was a Nine logo underneath, as they converted back to the transparent normal watermark after it.

I was very pleased with WIN last night with the showing of Steve Irwin's tribute. They didnt even cover up the ch9 watermark, instead the just showed their normal watermark on the bottom right hand screen.

I was quite displeased. I think the two watermarks on the screen like that looked ridiculous. I was just thankful that when they crossed to Stainton, he was wearing a white shirt so you only could see the Channel Nine watermark.
