I flicked over to Ten on the weekend and was disspaointed to see the old sports watermark in use. I hadn't seen the new one yet.

Channel 12 now broadcasts the HD watermark 24/7, or close to that anyway.

Looks like Ten is moving to making most of its content HD now anyway (AFL, Neighbours, etc.)

I don't think it looks any better than the previous font on 16:9, but I think it looks alot better on 4:3

The 'Live' watermark plus the current HD one (in 1080i I believe silly.gif):

7 HD Digital In Perth last night was doing a flip.
The watermark came up during the ads then went off during the program (Mile High) silly.gif

has happened before on the east coast. I think the watermark may miss one pulse and get out of sync.

This is from Tuesday, but Foreign Correspondent had a watermark during it's story on the submarine sunk of PNG - it looks quite good (not that I like its presence):

How much longer until ten make the watermark solid? It is crazy.gif now. They need to turn the brightness down and move it to the 16:9 safe area at the very least.

It sucks that they have the watermark now , it really because they are to lazy to do seperate feeds for SD and HD as its all coming from the HD channel now thats why they have the shobby 4:3 logo, they even squish credits and stuff aswell! I miss the old style of TEN HD no logos and no stupid squishing credits!

Too lazy??

This is how it should be done, they are treating the HD service as their prime concern which is unlike any our station in this country. Get over it, they bug everyting else why would you think the wouldn't do their HD service. It was always on the cards as soon as enough people started to watch it or they started to do sport in HD, now both are happening

Yes, the way they are doing it is more effective. Efficiency = Less costs, more concistency and less stuff-ups. You wouldn't think the RTP graphic from when the HD channel started would be well accepted in, say another 5 years or so. They're trying to get some concistency across the system.

It is a good new way but what i am saying is Ten should make a seperate watermark for the HD channel in the 16:9 area seeing as everyone mostly watches the HD channel on a 16:9 tv.
