Watermark Me! Watermarks, watermarks, watermarks

I don't think anyone in their right mind would say that bar is necessary. It's not. Why is it there? Win don't want us to see who's being interviewed, or are they afraid of some 1900 numbers flashing up?
It's a completely unnecessary graphic, which should just be a win logo over the Nine watermark, and the time underneath.

For a start I don't work for a "little TV station", did years ago & keep company with many who still are.
My point was that it's just a bar for christ's sake.
Maybe it's a nuisance, but "crime against humanity" it certainly ain't!
Not quite sure what you mean about the dogs, but neither run Astons.
FYI, TCN's on-air CG is actually a Chyron Lex (Duet) uploaded from VizRT while I think WIN are running Clarities.
You have me intrigued enough to try & find out Monday why they do it, but I reiterate, it's just a super bar.

Because Nine won't give them a clean feed, when WIN get clean feeds they don't use solid watermarks, they have transparent ones, when they don't have a clean feed they cover the nine logo with theirs. If you buy a Holden Astra you don't get Opel badges on the car, you get Holden ones, the same principle applies here. WIN may not produce Today, but they pay to show it on their network, so they should be free to brand it as such. I don't see why the whole bar needs covered, but I have no problems with WIN covering Nine logos, likewise with NBN.

It's not that bad, I wonder if it would look like this in watermark form:

I'm still waiting for the day then they over dub the word Nine and replace it with a "WIN Television" Voiceover during live calls and ads for Footy etc when Channel Nine gets mentioned

I would have a Solid WIN NEWS watermark over the top of the nine one, with the clock on top of it and the today logo below it.

Well said chicki.............
I wish I had a dollar for everytime someone has questioned why the regional stations try & cover the metro station logos.
If it's not here, it's over in the DTV Forum, if it's not there it's on Austech & around it goes......
Doesn't EVERY business have the right to brand their product how they see fit?
Consider if you owned a TV Station & were paying another TV station $100 million a year for a feed of programmes. Why should you then be expected to have to also take that other station's identification branding? You're paying for the programmes only, not advertising another business !
Whether it be Coca Cola, Buttercup or GMH, all businesses brand their products how they want. We consumers then buy these products & then have the priviledge, in the case of say GMH, to then drive around giving them free advertisiing for the life of the product !
On the other hand, we viewers don't pay for FTA TV, but feel we every right to complain, nay demand, that there be no branding allowed on this particular business.
That makes sense !

That's assuming they are just trying to cover the "9".
