This one's alittle smaller.

I thought this was only because the show I saw it on had subtitles. Is it a permanent thing? I preferred it down the bottom.

Nah, the watermark has always been bottom right for general entertainment TV shows and movies, regardless if it has subtitles or not.
I think it's just a glitch (at least I hope so), at the beginning of the film the watermark was on the bottom.
EDIT: Okay, I just went through my recordings. The repeat of Speaking in Tongues (11:50pm-12:20am) had the watermark in the bottom for the entirety of the show. The movie The Happiness of the Katakuris (12:20am-2:20am) had the watermark on the bottom for the first hour, then when it came back from a break it had moved to the top, and remained there for the following hour.

Back up the top last night as well.

Yesterday's English programming that I saw (Wine Lovers' Guide, The Journal, News Hour with Jim Lehrer, The Adventure of English and Queer as Folk) had the watermark as per usual on the bottom right. All the subtitled stuff I saw (Global Village, Hitler's Family and Sex and Lucia) had a top right watermark.
I think this is a terribly silly decision. In the nearly two and a half years SBS have had a watermark, I have never once found it clash with the subtitles (well it is transparent after all!!).

The old HD logo has now been replaced with the new 7HD logo.

I wondered whether this could be if the hotels I stayed in (a few different ones) were feeding the 7 digital signal in 4:3 it's analogue sets in rooms (as I understand it, 7 Digital has the watermark outside the 4:3 safe area).
I was also in Perth recently, and they definitely DID have the watermark on analogue, so I'm guessing it's the hotel feed that cuts off the 7 watermark and not just because ATN7's analogue transmission is not displaying it.... ??
Can anyone confirm whether ATN7 analogue still has the watermark?

I think there's been a gradual transition to the new HD logo. Today's Desperate Housewives was the first where I've seen the 'available in HD' strap featuring the new logo, which in the plain 2D, black and white version has grown on me, I quite like it.

As far as I know, that HD watermark has been around for ages. It's only used when the program is sourced in HD format.

It's probably because I'm one of those people that still turn to 9 instead of 90, 7 instead of 70 because I'm set in my ways, and the volume decreases on HD channels... then when I turn back to SD the television SHOUTS AT ME.

I think during Insiders, Inside Business, Offsiders & Asia Pacific Focus the watermark is reduced.
