Then why do you visit it? hyper.gif

Because thankfully not everyone is argumentative. smile.gif

Actually it's not, it's a link to MANY things, including the vote-a-matic, electorate search and full election coverage.

That is not the headline story on the page. So why do you keep telling me about it?

And I don't see a problem with the Chaser being in the top 3 stories

Hang on. I thought this site was MediaSPY. If we aren't going to comment on and keep a look out for declining journalistic standards as seen on news.com.au, then what the hell are we here for?

Ahh...another person who hides behind the "why can't we comment on bla bla bla" when they don't agree with someone else's opinion.

confused.gif No, I think that is a phrase you've just made up. laugh.gif

I'll re-respond to your statement.

You don't see a problem with (Anna Coren watching) The Chaser being the top story. I do, because it is not news.

I'd suggest you don't ignore Armac's post.

Debate the issue at hand, not each other fellas.

News.com.au's placement of The Chaser story as their main headline deserves to be discussed!

Yes it does, exactly, that's what I'm saying. smile.gif - that means no sniping at each other.

Not trying to censor, just wanting people to play nice.

Journalistically I don't agree with Anna Coren liking the Chaser as their top story...but what I'm saying is what do you expect when it's a tabloid site.

One thing I hate about online news articles is that they're very rarely accompanied with a relating photo.

It appears the site has had another bit of a redesign. Certainly the front page has.

Looks feral too... the body is too big for the background, some of the features have been lost, some features don't display properly (and I have IE7), and the colors are all wrong. They went from having the best design to the trashiest. Change it back News.com.au!

What features have been lost? The main bit is that the top stories have been moved to the middle instead of being on the left hand side. It's nothing major.

I'd say features not displaying properly would be due to bugs that are always present whenever a website launches some new componenets. I'm sure they'll be ironed out.

There a few little things... the 'Breaking News' module used to allow you to navigate to breaking business, sport, and other headlines. There was also more 'preview' boxes, as it allowed you to scroll through them using Javascript. There was also less ads than what is now being displayed, and they were in less annoying places. Plus the 'Blogroll' is not displaying correctly, and the content is not properly aligned with the body background image. Being a large company, you'd expect them to rectify these problems with the website overnight - but they are still there.

AFL player dies at training

A TEENAGE Australian Rules footballer has died during a club training session in Victoria's high country.

The 19-year-old Melbourne man collapsed and died today during a weekend training camp at Jamieson, near Eildon, about 200km northeast of Melbourne.

Police say the Cranbourne Football Club player was training on private property in The Sideling when he collapsed about 9.30am (AEDT).

Paramedics were called to the property but were unable to revive the man.

The cause of his death is not known.

The man was from Noble Park, but police have yet to release his identity.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

Disgusting.

Not sure if it's deliberate or just incompetance though. In any case, not good enough.

Must be deliberate because in the first line they state "Australian Rules footballer", so it's someone who knows the difference.

It's definitely deliberate, to grab the readers attention. For example on today's 'Windows Live Today' pop up, 'Eva's Dead Body is lifeless', which actually refers to her recent movie.

Pool's Posh and Becks set to cash in

March 27, 2008 02:43am

GLAMOUR swim couple Stephanie Rice and Eamon Sullivan are set to cash in on becoming the future of Australian swimming.

Rice this week became a dual world record holder in the 200m and 400m individual medleys, while Sullivan last night missed taking back his 50m freestyle world record by 0.02 seconds.

Leading Australian media buyer Harold Mitchell says swimming's golden duo have the talent and good looks to earn millions in endorsements and sponsorship deals.

"It's your classic love story and we all love a fairytale," he said.

"They look great together and are open and natural. The fact they can swim brilliantly helps their cause and they certainly tick the boxes out of the pool."

Yeah, they might earn millions if you keep shoving these two bogan nobodies in our faces, News Ltd. crazy.gif
