Is this what I think it is?
Oriel doing the 4:30 N9N?
Oriel hosted the Qantas Inflight News Late Edition a few weeks back when I was flying for work, so its not impossible.

She is the host of the afternoon edition news, full time.
Sharyn does the mornings.

She was sacked from Nine, not sure where she is working now.

They sack Oriel yet keep the likes of that Tso person and the new Nicholls... weird.

As far as I understand it Oriel was cut to keep costs down. Ross Greenwood will now do Today and 11am News finance reports and Karen Tso will do 4:30pm and Nightline finance.
Katrina Nicolas will fill-in where required but mainly focus on Business Sunday.
Oriel was often just doing the 11am news finance, which was probably a waste of money when Ross can stay back and do it.

Joanna Townsend (as seen in the Miscellaneous thread) has been doing the finance during the afternoon edition the past few days. Makes me wonder why they hire others to do the finance, even Katrina Nicolas some months ago... when they were in capable hands with Ross/Oriel/Karen.

Perhaps they are freelancers who can be called in at a moment's notice?
And having Oriel on what I imagine might have been a fairly hefty contract - just to do just the 11am finance and the occasional 'Today' slot? - might have been viewed as a waste of money... especially as Karen Tso is clearly the jewel in their financial crown now.
Just a thought
