Slow? You've got to be kidding me!

We have Telstra BigPond ADSL and it's only 217 kb/s upload and 54 kb/s download. That's what I call slow.

Oh yes, I agree. I'm very happy with my speed, but it just felt a bit slow posting after Mawk's 12,000 kbps smile.gif

I wish Hobart could get some decent broadband speeds. We still only have two exchanges in the whole state ADSL2+ enabled (that's been the case for a couple of years now). I'm thinking about going on an 8Mb plan, but there's only one or two providers in the state supporting those speeds and I don't know what speed I'll be able to get.

Did this a while back but thought I'd have another go. I'm actually surprised my internet goes that fast - mind you, that's when it decides to work and not cut out randomly like it does on a regular basis. Bloody Bigpond!!

Floptus Cable.

Could be faster, but I'm not fussed. I know a lot of people would like what I get very much! Pity about the pisspoor download limits. Need to wait till they put a fibre run out to my exchange and some 2+ DSLAMs.

5gb is not enough for me.... I seem to get very close to that limit each month and if I go over it (which I have) then I get throttled back to 64kps which is not nice. I was thinking of going to Optus cable as the download limit is higher and it would be the same price but by the looks of things, I will stick to iinet and just go to a higher download plan.

Oh Ok, thats fair enough. it depends on what and how much you download each month. Me personally as i have said i download a lot but not enough to reach and exceed 5gb.

Mmm hmmm, I can relate. I'm on a 10GB plan and usually spend around seven days a month shaped to dial-up speed. I want to go to the 20GB plan, but money's a bit tight at the moment. Internode have introduced top-ups, $5 for 1GB, $10 for 2GB etc, so that's something I think I'll go with in the near future. Unfortunately I can't get ADSL2+ where I live. angry.gif

I pay $59.95 for 10gb (5 gigs off peak, 5 gigs peak). There are cheaper deals around but I can't be bothered churning to another provider which may not be as reliable as Ozemail (now iinet) have been and I'm on adsl2+ speeds (or so they say).... the 20gig plan (10 gigs off peak, 10 gigs peak) is $10 more so I'm thinking about doing that.

On ADSL 2+ Expect to pull that down in a month very easily if your hardcore like me. (Youtubin'/Downloading Music/Movies/Games/Software + Reading Forums Like This Alot And Also Having MSN Never Being Off)
I could do 30GB in a month with ADSL 2+.
Probably even more.
