NZ: Freeview uptake beats expectations

New Zealander’s uptake of Freeview – their free-to-air digital television and radio service – has exceeded expectations with installed receivers in over 100,000 Kiwi homes.

The latest figures show that over 25,000 receivers have been sold this quarter, swelling the total to 123,903, including 7594 high-definition versions.

Australians to get Freeview in 2009

Australia’s free-to-air commercial television networks together with the nation’s public broadcasters today formally announced the establishment of Freeview.
