Seven takes Bath on Sunday Night

The Seven Network has confirmed popular Sydney newsreader Chris Bath will co-anchor its new Sunday Night program.

The program will be live with a studio audience. Bath will be joined by former Nine newsreader Mike Munro.

On Sunday Night, there will be a revolving door for other Seven reporters and personalities. Samantha Armytage and Molly Meldrum have both completed stories.

Co-executive producer Adam Boland believed they'd hit the right balance between serious journalism and entertainment, delivered in an "exciting new style''.

The appointment of Bath ends months of speculation about the program's female co-host.

Bath was in the running for the prominent position although Sunrise's Natalie Barr was early favourite.

Bath, who also recently begun dating Seven sports reporter Jim Wilson, welcomed the opportunity to report.

"It's been a while, so it'll be nice to get back on the road. Great to do some longer form stuff, which I haven't done for a while,'' she today The Sunday Telegraph.
