Nine to revamp NRL Footy Show

The Nine Network's chief executive, David Gyngell, has ordered a major off-season revamp of The (NRL) Footy Show.
The program will undergo an overhaul to bring it more into line with modern prime-time television, The Sunday Telegraph reports.
Gyngell insisted the station's greatest survivor, Paul "Fatty" Vautin, would be retained as one of the hosts.
"The show has been on air for seventeen years, so it's time we put some work into it and relaunched the program next season," Gyngell said.
A source had originally told the newspaper that network executives were considering axing the show because of falling ratings.
"That couldn't be further from the truth. The show makes money and it still wins its timeslot," Gyngell confirmed.
"Having a Footy Show is part of our commitment to broadcasting rugby league and we'll just be looking at ways of making improvements, as you would with any show that has been on air for that length of time."
The makeover is rumoured to take-on a similar style to The (AFL) Footy Show, which has been much more successful in Victoria.
As previous reported in TSR, the show also received an overhaul at the beginning of this year, but it failed to improve the already diminished audience.
Meanwhile, Matthew Johns has confirmed that his equivalent, The Matty Johns Show on the Seven Network, will return for another season next year.
"I've been really happy with what we've done - particularly the mix at the back end of the year," Johns said.
"I've got a meeting with all the crew about a fortnight after the grand final to talk about recruitment and a timeslot for next year.
"We signed up for two seasons, so we'll be back next year. There are a couple of other projects I'm talking to Seven about as well," he added.
