The Ten Network's Carrie Bickmore has lost her husband Greg Lange to cancer after a courageous ten-year battle.

The host of The 7PM Project confirmed that Lange passed away surrounded by his family on Monday 27 December.

According to yesterday's Herald Sun, Lange was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2001. The couple were married in 2005 before having their son Ollie Lange in 2007.

"I’m doing my best to draw comfort knowing that Greg is now resting peacefully," Bickmore said.

"He fought so courageously for so long. I feel so blessed to have little Ollie in my life.

"The support we have received has been overwhelming and we all feel blessed to have so many good and loving people surrounding us at such a sad and distressing time."

Ten released a statement on Friday evening confirming Bickmore's loss.

"It is with deep regret and sorrow that we confirm Greg Lange, surrounded by family and friends, passed away early this week after his decade-long battle with cancer," the network said.

"Carrie and family are extremely thankful for the support, care and consideration they have received during this period, especially the last twelve months.

"Privacy and understanding at this difficult time is appreciated so they may now grieve as a family."
