Nine appoints new production executive

The Nine Network has appointed Courtney Gibson to the position of programming production executive.
Gibson, who begins on 2 July, joins Nine from production company Southern Star Entertainment where she has been director of programmes since November 2009.
She will work alongside head of development Adrian Swift, the production team of Simon Baird, Karen Dewey and John Walsh, and the independent production sector to bring a wide range of programmes to the network.
Nine's director of programming Andrew Backwell said: "We are excited to have someone with the outstanding track record of Courtney join our production team here at Nine. Courtney will be an asset to our team overseeing our successful slate of local production."
Prior to working at Southern Star, Gibson was the executive head of content creation at the ABC for two years, responsible for the development of numerous programmes, including Spicks and Specks, Summer Heights High, The Chasers War on Everything, We Can Be Heroes and Strictly Dancing.
"It's a great time to be joining the team at Nine, with so many fantastic shows on air having such a big impact; I really can't wait to get started," she said.
